HAL fuselage for Israeli co

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) on Tuesday handed over the first rear fuselage for a Gulfstream (G-150) aircraft to Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI), according to a company release.

The Gulfstream Corporation of the U.S markets the business executive aircraft that is built in Israel and then transported to the U.S.

HAL signed a contract with IAI in 2007 to produce 200 “ship-sets” of G-150 fuselages for the Israeli company.

HAL Chairman Ashok Nayak said the G-150 project “augurs well” not only for HAL but also for the “national objective of producing a civilian aircraft of international standards.”

He said HAL had developed a “time-tested partnership” with the Israeli company and that they would “capitalise on the vast potential in the business jet market.”
