dated April 8, 1959: Forest wealth

Mr. Bishnuram Medhi, Governor of Madras, presiding over the inauguration of the centenary celebrations of the Madras Forest Administration in Madras on April 7, said that the welfare of the future generation depended to a great extent on the regeneration, development, improvement and protection of forest wealth. The Governor expressed the hope that the celebrations would be able to focus public opinion “so that the people in general may realise the value of the regeneration of forest wealth under a plan.”
