BANGALORE: The Board of Directors of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), on Thursday decided to increase the fee for postgraduate diploma in management course by Rs. 25,000 for this year’s batch and Rs. 75,000 for the same batch the next academic year. Presently, the fee is Rs. 5 lakh a year. Addressing presspersons , IIMB Director Pankaj Chandra said the hike was minimal and does not completely cover the actual expenditure on each student. Increased costs owing to the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations with regard to salary and pension had increased the financial burden on the institution, Prof. Chandra said.
