South Western Railways to run special trains

PANAJI: South Western Railway has decided to run weekly special trains between Yeshwantpur and Tirupati (train no 0697/0698),Vasco-da-gama and Yeshwantpur (train no 0695/0696) and Yeshwantpur-Korba (train no 0681/0682).

According to the timetable chalked out, train no 0695 Yeshwantpur-Vasco-da-Gama Garib Rath weekly express special will leave Yeshwantpur at 9 p.m. on Saturdays, from April 4, 2009.

In the reverse direction, the train will leave on Sundays at 11.40 a.m. from Vasco-da Gama, according to a press release here on Thursday.

During this season, nine special trains, in all, will be operated on this route, up to May 30, 2009.

These trains will have halts at Tumkur, Tiptur, Arsikere, Birur, Davangere, Hubli, Dharwad, Londa, Castle Rock, Kulem, Sanvordem and Madgaon.

These trains will have 18 coaches — 16 AC 3 tier and 2 generator cars, according to the release.
