The Hindu lifts Vestas Cricket Cup

THE CHAMPION: The Hindu team which won the Vestas Cup on Sunday.

CHENNAI: The Hindu lifted the Vestas Cricket Cup, defeating Delphi TVS by 41 runs in the final held here on Sunday.

Cognizant, FL Smidth, The Hindu, Delphi TVS, Sanmar, Saipem and host Vestas took part in the tournament.

Arvind Kaul, Managing Director, Vestas (India), Naresh Kumar, Director, HR, Vestas (India), and P.R. Raghavan, SGM (Personnel), The Hindu, gave away the prizes.

The scores:

Final: The Hindu 159 for eight in 20 overs (Vignesh Raja 42, Madhan 27) bt Delphi TVS 118 for eight in 20 overs (Ragavan four for 2).

Semifinals: FL Smidth 97 in 18.2 overs (Suresh Babu 37, Manikandan three for 20) lost to Delphi TVS 98 for one in 10.1 overs (V. Karthikeyan 54).

Cognizant 108 in 18.4 overs (Leslin Ross 41, Ramaraja three for 13) lost to The Hindu 109 for nine in 19.3 overs (J. Vijay Kumar three for 12).
