VELLORE: VIT University Chancellor G. Viswanathan inaugurated the 43rd branch of Indian Overseas Bank in the Vellore region at Walajapet on Thursday. Mr. Viswanathan traced the current global financial crisis to the absence of the savings habit among population in the United States. He therefore stressed the importance of savings to avert such a crisis. A. Narayanan, Chief Regional Manager, IOB, Vellore region, presided over the function. S. Krishnakumar, branch manager, IOB, Walajapet, welcomed the gathering.
