Left Front alleges discrimination

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: The Left Front on Saturday said that the Election Commission had discriminated against it while hearing various parties during its visit to the city on March 19, allotting far longer time to the Trinamool Congress.

Addressing journalists here, Left Front Committee chairman Biman Bose said that the EC which “wears the garb of neutrality, would need to discharge its duties in a neutral manner too.”

Mr. Bose said that even while drawing up the list of the parties which would be heard and in which order the EC did not carry out its function in a transparent manner. “We demand to know the guidelines followed by the EC,” he said.
