Neena Praveen stuns Nadeem Ahmed

Chennai: Neena Praveen stunned title holder Nadeem Ahmed 3-2 (57-49, 58-22, 40-75, 30-65, 50-37) in the TNBSA- Ragothaman Memorial invitation snooker tournament at the TNBSA premises here on Friday.

Hindustan advances

Hindustan University beat Gurunanak Arts & Science 55-23 in the first round of the Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Memorial inter-college basketball tournament at the University campus.

The results: Anand Institute of Higher Technology 32 (V. Dinesh 10) bt Bharath University 16; Vel Tech EC 25 (Praveen 10) bt Hindustan Arts & Science 24 (Jigme 10); Hindustan University 55 (Jamiu 16) bt Gurunanak Arts & Science 23 (Manoj 11).

SSN triumphs

SSN emerged triumphant in basketball (men), chess (men) and table tennis (men) in the Tamil Nadu inter-engineering sports (TIES), organised by Jayam College of Engineering, Dharmapuri recently.

SSN’s TT team came second in the women’s category and the men’s badminton team finished third.

Cricket tournaments

Coaching camp

YMCA’s camps

YMCA Kodambakkam will conduct coaching camp in tennis, table tennis, badminton, chess and taekwondo from April 1 to May 31 at its premises. For details contact S. Daniel Alagesan at 24894077.

ACE Trophy

Asian Cricket Entertainers will conduct the ACE Trophy, a league-cum-knockout tournament for clubs, academies and private institutions from the first week of April. Cricket camps

Elsewhere, Little Hearts Cricket Academy will conduct a camp for boys and girls in the seven to 17 age group at SDNB Vaishnav (Chromepet), Chennai, between April 12 and May 31.
