Three teachers arrested for rape

Shimla: The management of a school for the deaf and dumb here has complained that four teachers in the institute had assaulted students, leading to the arrest of three of them.

Police said three teachers of the school in Totu area in the city run by the Prerna Welfare Association were arrested for allegedly raping the students.

The school’s managment had lodged a complaint against all the four teachers and, after a probe, three of them were arrested. The fourth one is absconding, a police spokesman said.

The school has 27 children and 10 girls are in the age group 12-21, an official of the institute said. — PTI
