Sachdev Sports Company beats Goa SA, enters semifinals

Sachdev SC won 5-4 via tie-breaker

HYDERABAD: Sachdev Sports Company (Hyderabad) entered the semifinals with a 5-4 win over Goa Sports Association via tie-breaker in the 12th all-India GSA Fernandes veterans football tournament in Mumbai on Saturday, according to information received here.

Right-in Prakash scored for Sachdev while Dyco D’Souza equalised for Goa in regulation time. In the tie-breaker P. P. Surendra Kumar, Akmal, Faizal and Akbar scored for Sachdev while D’Silva, Costa and D’Souza scored for the loser.

The Hindu in last four

The Hindu scored a four-wicket win over ADP India in the semifinals of the Corporate Olympiad cricket tournament organised by Dravyansh Corporate Cricket and Sports Organisers here.

The scores: ADP 136 for seven (Kiran 31, Anup 33) lost to The Hindu 137 for six (G. Sridhar 34, C.M. Srikanth 34).

Motorola wins

Motorola notched up a 17-run win over Nzen in the GenNext Foundation cricket tournament for corporates at Nagole near here.

The scores: Motorola 144 for seven (Sunil 35, Rakesh three for 21) bt Nzen 127 for seven (S. P. Ajay 45, Vikram 44, Rashid Khan four for 15).

Easy for Celebrity

Celebrity Club recorded a 10-wicket win over Fateh Maidan Club in the Tiger trophy inter-club cricket tournament organised by Secunderabad Club.

The scores: Fateh Maidan Club 53 (T. Pavan Kumar three for 19, Chetan Joshi three for one) lost to Celebrity Club 54 for no loss (Youraj Singh 32).

Zorastrian club 190 for four (S. Khovmonu 61, Jamshed 65) bt New club 141 for five (Anirudh 33).

Krishna District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) will conduct a one-day tournament for mini, cadet and sub-juniors boys and girls at Chennupati Ramakotaiah indoor stadium at Patamata, Vijaywada, from 8 a.m., according to KDTTA secretary Uday Kumar.

Condolence meeting

Krishna District Sports Authority is organising a condolence meeting in memory of Gopala Krishna Sarma, a Sports Authority of India weightlifting coach, who passed away on March 5, at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, Vijaywada, on Sunday.

Members of Krishna District Olympic Association, District Weightlifting Association, and District Physical Education Teachers Association will take part, according to District Sports Development officer B. Sudhakar here in Saturday.
