SESA, Pune FC qualify

GURGAON: SESA FA (Goa) posted a narrow 2-1 win over Amity United in a Group ‘B’ match of the ONGC second division football league at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium here on Saturday.

SESA got the lead after Marcus Fernandes converted a cross from Israel Gurung in the 18th minute.

Amity’s S. Pretiban scored the equaliser four minutes into the second half.

However, Leslie Fernandes netted the winner for SESA in the 74th minute.

In another match, Pune Football Club and New Delhi Heroes played out a goalless draw.

From Group ‘B,’ SESA and the Pune club have qualified for the final round of the competition. SESA topped the group with 10 points after three wins and a draw. The Pune team, with two wins and two draws, collected eight points to finish second.
