Vijay Kumar sizzles

PANCHKULA: Vijay Kumar scored an eight-under 64 to break the course record and share the lead with Gaganjeet Bhullar after the third round of the Rs 30 lakh PGTI Players’ Championship at the Panchkula Golf Club here on Saturday.

A blemish-free penultimate round helped Vijay Kumar, tied fourth at the halfway stage, give a strong challenge to Bhullar as the two gathered an identical 12-under 204.

After his one-over second round, Bhullar made amends to his game to card six-under 66 and stay in title contention.

Among others, overnight leader Vinod Kumar slipped to the tied-fourth position while Mukesh Kumar is at the shared-sixth place.

Ashok Kumar is tied for the 12th spot and Gaurav Ghei is tied-23rd.
