GUNTUR: Scores of devotees at the ISKCON Devotional Centre at Vidya Nagar observed Charitra Maha Prabhu, marking the reincarnation of Lord Krishna as a devotee spreading the message of ‘bhakti’. The devotees sang devotional songs as part of the bhajan, performed ‘abhishekam’ with milk, honey, fruit juices and coconut water. Temple head priest Rama Murari Das said on Wednesday that the day marked the reincarnation of the Lord as a normal disciple spreading the message of bhakti singing devotional hymn, ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’. He said that devotees of the Lord gather in large numbers and observe the day with piety. Kidney DayService Health Organisation will organise World Kidney Day on its institution premises on Thursday by conducting free kidney tests, said its founder T. Seva Kumar here on Wednesday. Blood and urine tests would be conducted as part of the exercise.People could contact SHO in Brodipet Second Lane over Phone No. 2242995. Sri Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences also proposes to organise several programmes.
