Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: An incident of a teacher allegedly beating up a student triggered tension at Kushaiguda with student organisations and family members of the boy demonstrating at the school on Tuesday.

Resil Chakravarthy, 13, a ninth standard student of Sri Chaitanya Techno School, ECIL-Kushaiguda, was allegedly thrashed by a teacher, Suresh, on Monday resulting in injuries to the boy. Student organisations alleged that the teacher beat up the boy on a petty issue that the latter quarrelled with another student in the school bus.

Suresh was school campus in-charge of buses. Chakravarthy was running high temperature and complained of pain in the ribs on returning home from the school. When his parents asked him what had happened, the boy explained that the teacher beat up him.

The school management assured the parents that Suresh would be suspended. A case of assault under Section 324 of the IPC was registered against Suresh, who is absconding.
