Load-shedding irks industry

HYDERABAD: The two-day power cut and daily four-hour load-shedding was causing severe hardship to the industry and business sectors, said Suraj Prasad Agarwal, president, Federation of AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), here on Tuesday.

In a statement, he said the industry sector, already under recession, was severely affected by power cuts. All industries across the State were struggling to meet their production targets and suffered a fall in productivity by an estimated 40-50 per cent. The productivity in city would fall further with more power cuts.

Mr. Agarwal appealed to the government to improve the power supply and regulate the power cut schedule.
