Bangalore: Fire broke out at six different places in the city on Monday and material worth several lakhs was gutted. While a car seized in connection with an accident caught fire accidentally in front of Yelahanka traffic police station on Monday, material worth thousand of rupees was destroyed in another fire accident in a hotel in R.T. Nagar. Fires occurred on a vacant land in Bommasandra, in a house at Jai Bharat Nagar near Mysore Road, on vacant land near Bamboo Bazaar and Cantonment Railway station. At least eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fires, said an officer attached to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services. Man murderedA labourer Krishnappa, a resident of Yelahanka was murdered at his relative’s house on Monday. According to the police, Jayaraj (18), son of Mahadevamma, attacked Krishnappa with an axe and killed him when he came to his house. The police suspect illicit relationship to be the cause for the murder. DiesRaju Adoke (19), a native of West Bengal, was injured when he fell on the ground following a tussle with his friend near Ulsoorgate on Sunday. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries, the police said.
