Third consecutive ton by Akash

Chennai: Opening batsman R. Akash of FSCA ‘A’ scored his third consecutive hundred in the Velammal under-14 cricket tournament conducted by the FSCA. Akash’s 123 enabled his side’s 204-run win over Padma Sarangapani CA. In another match, Adithya Giridhar of Kedar CA scored 101 to help his side defeat Khans’ CA by 45 runs.

The scores: FSCA ‘A’ 298 for five in 30 overs (R. Akash 123, Ragav Viswanathan 75, R. Barath 27 n.o., K. Aravindan 26 n.o., J. Vijay three for 57) bt Padma Sarangapani CA 94 in 29.4 overs.

United CA 89 in 29.3 overs (J. Praseed three for 11) lost to MAC Spin 93 for one in 19.4 overs (Rameez Raja 36 n.o., Kaushik U. Ram 30 n.o.).

Kedar CA 226 for six in 30 overs (Adithya Giridhar 101, V. Adithya 32 n.o.) beat Khans’ CA 181 for nine in 30 overs (Rathish Manikandan 32, Akash Kadel 32).

Shahrukh, Adithyan and Geet score centuries

M. Shahrukh Khan (111 n.o. and five for 26) of St. Bede’s ‘A’ and M. Adithyan (111 n.o.) of PS SSS starred in victories, while the effort of Geet Puri (114) of St. John’s ES & JC went in vain in the TNCA city schools under-14 tournament (league format) quarterfinal matches for the B. Somasundaram Trophy.

The scores: Vidya Mandir ‘A’ 110 in 48.4 overs (Muralidhar 26) lost to Santhome ‘A’ 111 for one in 23.4 overs (V. Vignesh 57 n.o., T. Kranthi 29 n.o.).

St. Bede’s ‘A’ 253 for seven in 50 overs (M. Shahrukh Khan 111 n.o., Dhileepan 54 n.o., R. Mohammed Musthafa Sarosh 38, Mitchell Anthony Mannays three for 60) bt Don Bosco ‘A’ 130 for nine in 50 overs (Mitchell Anthony Mannays 35, V.R.N. Vignesh 29, M. Shahrukh Khan five for 26).

PSBB (K.K. Nagar) ‘A’ 308 for nine in 50 overs (Akash 69, V. Adhitya 61, Vignesh 50, Aswath Mukundan 37, Ramanujam 34, Adithya Giridhar 26) bt Modern ‘A’ 114 in 36 overs (K.B. Dixit 29, J. Vishnu three for eight, M. Karthik three for seven).

St. John’s ES & JC 184 for nine in 50 overs (Geet Puri 114, Sathyanarayanan four for 52) lost to PS 185 for one in 32.2 overs (M. Adithyan 111 n.o., T. Sivaprakash 42 n.o).
