Bus operators’ plea

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation has urged the government to reconsider its decision to reduce the bus fare following cut in diesel price. In a statement here, federation president A.K. Abdulla said diesel was just a component in bus operation and that the price of spare parts, lubricants and tyres had gone up considerably. Besides, the wages of the bus crew had gone up by 35 per cent. Hence there was no justification to reduce the bus fare. – Staff Reporter
