KHAMMAM: The Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sambhani Chandrasekhar said on Sunday that the government had sanctioned Rs. 2.46 crores for taking up various developmental activities in Khammam town. Laying the stone for a CC road work in Gandhi chowk locality he said that the funds were given to the town a part of the Rs. 200 crores given for improving urban amenities in 121 municipalities. He explained that proposals pertaining to some 149 works were approved the works would commence soon. Drinking water and sanitation would be given top priority in utilising the funds. Besides this, the government had given Rs. 36 crores for augmenting the drinking water supply in the town. The Collector, Shashibhushan Kumar said the 38th ward in the town had got many development works executed during the past five years.
