MAHABUBNAGAR: Vice-Chancellor of Palamoor University Prof. V. Gopal Reddy called for the need to update skills and become resourceful to meet future challenges. He was addressing a workshop on ‘Accounting and New Curriculum’ sponsored by the district resource centre at M.V. S. Goernment Arts & Science College here on Saturday. The Vice-Chancellor said that the University and colleges make the students more resourceful. Prof. M. Srinivas Board of studies chairman, Department of Commerce Osmania University, advised to focus on the talents of students rather than on the weakness. Prof. M. Sulochana head of the department of commerce, Osmania University Hyderabad in her address referred to the importance of communication skills in present day commerce. Prof. K.V. Achalapathi, former Dean of faculty of Commerce, Osmania University Hyderabad felt that computer and communication skills are two wings of commerce. Building confidencePrincipal of the college B. Vijaya Raju in his presidential address said that these workshop will definitely benefit the academic sections. DRC Coordinator Dr. A. Sri Ramulu emphasised the role of the District Resource Centre in serving the students of government colleges in the district coming from poor families to build confidence in them. Earlier J. Krishna Reddy in-charge of commerce department of the college welcomed the dignitaries.
