SRM varsity clinches title
The SRM University team which won the all-India inter-university volleyball championship at Mangalore.
Chennai: SRM University prevailed over Kurukshetra 25-20, 25-21, 17-25, 25-12 in the final to claim the all-India inter-university volleyball championship hosted by Mangalore University at Mangalore.
In the semifinals SRM had got past Sathyabama 25-20, 15-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-7.
SRM beat Puruvanchal 25-13, 25-12, 25-13, Dr. Ambedkar 25-21, 25-18, 25-12 and Punjab 26-24, 23-25, 27-25, 25-12 in the league phase, and then overcame Delhi 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 25-18, in the quarterfinal.
A.V. Manikantan was declared the best setter in the championship and T. Sakthikumar as the best libero.
