Award for education programme

PUDUCHERRY: The Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Kirshi Vigyan Kendra here has been adjudged the best Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the country.

The Indian Council for Agriculture Research, New Delhi, has awarded the Kendra for its pioneering work in extension education programme in agriculture.

A release issued by the Kendra said that it was awarded for the work undertaken by its Farm Service Club, Women Empowerment Cell and Fisheries Wing.

The award included a cash component of Rs. 1, 00,000, a shield and citation.
