Easy for Andhra teams

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra men and women recorded 3-0 wins in their first matches in the 38th senior National carrom championships which commenced here on Monday.

Holder Maharashtra women, runner-up Tamil Nadu, third and fourth placed Hyderabad and Bihar warmed up with comfortable wins in the league phase.

The results (league phase):

Men: Zone I: Kerala bt Mizoram 3-0. Zone II: Andhra bt Tripura 3-0. Zone III: Bengal bt Madhya Pradesh 2-1. Zone IV: Bihar bt Meghalaya 3-0. Zone V: Chandigarh bt Puducherry 2-1. Zone VI: Vidarbha bt Uttarakhand 3-0. Zone VII: Goa bt Chattisgarh 2-1. Zone VIII: Rajasthan bt Gujarat 2-1.

Women: Zone I: Maharashtra bt Vidarbha 3-0, Chandigarh bt Chattisgarh 3-0. Zone II: Bihar bt Goa 3-0, Andhra bt Manipru 3-0. Zone III: Hyderabad bt Jharkhand 2-1. Zone IV: Tamil Nadu bt Meghalaya 3-0, Bengal bt Haryana 3-0.
