Mumbai, Delhi in semifinals

MUMBAI: Mumbai and Delhi entered the semifinals of the Rizvi College-sponsored all-India inter-zonal university cricket tournament for the Rohinton Baria Trophy here on Monday.

Mumbai defeated Acharya Vinoba Bhave by three wickets with seamer Vishal Dabholkar capturing seven wickets, while Delhi beat Madras by seven wickets.

In another quarterfinal, SRM posted 340, thanks to a century by Vijay Rahul and half-centuries by Prashant and Arun Karthik.

The scores (quarterfinals):

Acharya Vinoba Bhave 122 (Vishal Dabholkar seven for 30) lost to Mumbai 127 for seven (Viral Shah 55, Nishant Kumar three for 13).

Madras 90 (M. Rangarajan 50 n.o., Ravi Dixit four for 28) lost to Delhi 91 for three.

RSTM (Nagpur) 224 (M. Kale 48, M. Joshi 42, Mansoor three for 45) vs Aligarh Muslim University.

SRM 340 (Vijay Rahul 132, Prashant 68, Arun Karthik 64, U. Mukherjee four for 41) vs. Calcutta. — Special Correspondent
