Five-wicket win for SV University College

HYDERABAD: SV University College (Tirupati) recorded a five-wicket win over Balaji Institute of Technology (Narsampet) in the seventh SR Champions State-level inter-engineering tournament at Warangal.

The scores: Koneru Lakshmaiah College 108 for nine (Nagender Babu 34, Danish three for 23) bt SITAMS (Chittoor) 87 for eight (Ravi three for 18).

Balaji Institute of Technology 82 (Mudassir three for 10) lost to SV University College 86 for five.

Syed Hashim College (Medak) 104 for nine bt Ganapathi College (Warangal) 98 for four (Dinesh 39 n.o., Fawad three for 19).

CMRIT (Medchal) 117 for seven (Dayanand 34) bt Al-Habeeb College (Hyd) 80 (Dayanand three for 18).

CJITS (Warangal) 106 for five (Phani 38) lost to VJIT (Hyd) 107 for six (Veeru 40, Phani three for 24).

BVRIT (Medak) 110 for seven (Ramana 33) lost to MGIT (Hyd) 114 for four (Sai Chand 45 n.o.).

DSA registers win

District Sports Authority (Ranga Reddy) scored a three-wicket win over Don Bosco Degree College (Nalgonda) in the Don Bosco Twenty20 tournament at Nalgonda.

The scores:

Don Bosco Degree College 115 for seven (Srikanth three for 22) lost to DSA Ranga Reddy 116 for seven (Vinay three for 18).

Cricket Coaching Foundation (Hyd) 191 for four (Nikhilesh 68 not out, V. Vinay Uttam four for 13) bt Dare Devils (Nalgonda) 93 for nine.

Farooq, Habib score

Hyderabad Globe scored a 2-0 win over Bharat Dynamics Ltd in the super league of the SAAP Budweiser Premier League football championship at Gymkhana Grounds here.

Striker Farooq netted the first goal in the 56th minute off a pass from winger Akbar. Within five minutes, Habib Khan scored the second goal off a pass from Anbulagan.

Hyderabad XI posts win

Hyderabad XI scored a 50-run win over Sri Lanka XI in the inaugural V. Hanumantha Rao all-India invitation under-19 Twenty20 tournament at Water Works grounds (Amberpet) here.

V. Hanumanth Rao, MP, inaugurated the tournament.

The scores: Hyderabad XI 176 for four in 20 overs (Sharat 35, Vasanth 54) bt Sri Lanka 126 (Madhu 33, Mateesha 34).

Volleyball trials

Trials to pick the Andhra Pradesh women’s volleyball team for the Jharkhand National Games will be held on January 19 from 7 a.m. at the Lal Bahadur Stadium. The selected players will attend a coaching camp at the same venue from January 20 to February 13, according to L. Venkatram Reddy, APVA secretary.
