FOR GOOD HEALTH: A sanitary worker being screened at a medical camp conducted by the Coimbatore Corporation. COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Corporation held a health screening camp for its conservancy workers in the city on Sunday. The camp held at Kamarajapuram in Ganapathy was the second in a series to be conducted by the Corporation to ensure that its conservancy workers were in good health. Assistant City Health Officer R. Sumathi said that 225 people (workers and their family members) were screened at the camp held in their colony. Of the people screened, 78 were men, 108 women, 16 boys and 19 girls. The official said 43 men and 46 women underwent scanning to check for any serious diseases. Orthopaedic checks were done for 20 men and 26 women. Cancer screening was done for 60 women. The other tests done were eye screening, electrocardiogram and blood tests. Dr. Sumathi said 26 people were found to have problems in the heart and an equal number had diabetes.
