Angamaly film festival from tomorrow

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The city’s interest in international films has never been on the wane, as Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage has found out. During his visit as part of screening of his new film Akashhakusum, his first to the city though he has been visiting the State since 1998, he realised that pirated DVDs of his films are available in the grey market.

Mr. Vithanage said this while sharing the dais with officials of the International Film Festival Angamaly (IFFA) 2009 to announce details of this year’s festival.

Renowned filmmaker and cinematographer Shaji N. Karun will inaugurate IFFA 2009, which is being organised by the Chithrasala Film Society, Angamaly, on Wednesday.
