Arrangements for Makara Sankranti

BANGALORE: The Gavi Gangadhareshwaraswamy Temple in Gavipuram will celebrate the Makara Sankrathi on January 14. The special feature of this temple is that on the Makara Sankranti day, the sunrays will directly fall on the idol of Lord Shiva. The spectacle is expected to happen between 4.45 p.m. and 5.10 p.m. A press release from the temple said that elaborate arrangements have been made for the occasion. The authorities have arranged closed circuit televisions for the benefit of the devotees to watch the spectacle, a press release said. — Staff Reporter
