Chennai: AGORC and ICF drew three-all in a thrill-a-minute St. Joseph’s-CFA Senior Division match here on Saturday. Little separated the sides apart from their contrasting styles — ICF attacking with pace down the wings and AGORC passing the ball back and forth and sideways in patient build-up play. ICF took the lead in the 11th minute through the head of striker T. Dhadeus, thrust successfully at a superb cross from the right, volleyed first time by S. Suresh Kumar chasing a diagonal ball from F. Jegan. AGORC replied immediately through a tap-in from midfielder S. Sathish Yadaw, spilled into the net by ICF keeper S. Agastin. Four minutes later, AGORC made it 2-1 with a brilliant lob over the keeper by midfielder Jestes Antony, who had made a clever run round the outside of, and received a well-weighted pass from, centreforward R. Selvakumar. ICF equalised almost as soon as the second half began, M. Jegan slotting home after controlling a Suresh pass from the left. Six minutes later, ICF went 3-2 ahead; Dhadeus headed his second, off Suresh’s third assist, another pinpoint cross from the right. The sixth and final goal of the match was a cracker, man-of-the-match Jestes Antony’s second. The little midfielder moved the ball on to his left foot near the right touchline, about thirty five yards from goal. From there, he hit the ball slightly off-centre with his bootlaces, and sent it screaming over the defence, to dip wickedly away from the keeper and find the inside of the far side-netting; a definite contender for goal of the season. Earlier, goals from R. Balaji and B. Balamurugan gave Madras Eagles a 2-0 win over Perambur Blues in the first division.
