Biggest and brightest moon

New Delhi: People in love with the magic of a moonlit landscape were in for a treat on Saturday as the full moon shone brightest and was the biggest in size for the year.

The full moon will be 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter on Saturday.

The moon will be brightest at 3.30 am today (Sunday).

This is because the Moon’s orbit is an ellipse with one side 50,000 km closer to earth than the other side.- PTI
