They were killed for property

BANGALORE: In recent years, several elderly people in the city have been murdered for their property. Meena Rasquinha (75) and her maid Prema Mary (65); Ramakrishnan, Manjula, Jayalakshamma, and retired KAS officer Siddaiah, were murdered in 2001.
Dulcie Vaz, Narasamma, Sarai Bai, Jayadevamma, retired teacher H. Rajagopalachar (80) and retired government employee Keshava Prabhu (78) were murdered in 2002. Retired bank official Indu Rajagopalan (74) and her sister Malathi Rao (80) were smothered to death in their flat at the High Point-1 apartment complex in April 2004. Domestic help Renukamma, who was accused of murder, was acquitted recently.
Thangammal, (79), was strangulated and her gold ornaments taken away in Muniswamappa Layout near Ulsoor in May 2004.
Subramanya Naidu (60) was allegedly stabbed by his son Gopi in Naidu Layout in Ittamadu in February 2005.
Ramaiah (75) was hacked to death, allegedly by his nephew Janardhan, at Immadihalli in the Kadugodi police station limits in December 2006.
Lakshmamma (73), Lalitha (66) and Sudha Sampath (57) were murdered at their houses and gold jewellery taken away in September 2006.
