Hyderabad Globe scores an easy win

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Globe recorded a comfortable, 4-0 win over City College Old Boys in the SAAP Budweiser Premier League football championship at Gymkhana Grounds here on Saturday.

Nikesh, Eric struck once each in the first session and Habib Khan and Hassan scored one goal apiece in the second session for the winners.

In another match, EME Centre scored a 2-0 win over Bolarum Sporting with Dharini and Anbu Kumar netting one goal each.

Big win for AOC

On Friday, AOC Centre drubbed Shastri Club 7-0. Striker Mondal scored a brace while Dhule, Sasikiran, Gopal, Sandeep and Arun Kumar netted once each to complete the tally.

Siva Deep posts win

K. Siva Deep of City Model School defeated A.K. Rohit of Vignan Vidyalaya 8-5 in the boys under-10 tennis semifinals of the Deccan Chargers inter-school sports meet here on Friday.

The results: Cricket (semifinals): Cal Public School ‘A’ 139 (Chaitanya Reddy 51, Manish three for 18) bt Goutham Model School 104 for eight (Mallikarjun 31).

Fine spell by Singh

Former Hyderabad Ranji fast bowler Narinderpal Singh (five for 55) helped State Bank of Hyderabad record a nine-wicket win over India Cements in the A-Division (one-day) knock-out cricket tournament at Gymkhana Grounds here.

The scores: A-Division (three-day) knock-out: Evergreen 227 (K. Praveen 60, Sudhakar four for 57) & 260 (Vijay Goud 46, Dwarakanath Yadav 89, Sudhakar four for 68) lost to Hyderabad Bottling 319 (Chidambaram Rao 70, Ayappa 109) & 169 for eight (Chidambaram 107 not out, Nachiketh five for 55).

A-Division (one-day) knock-out: ECIL 221 (Rajesh 73, Srinivas 45, Sudheer 45) bt Classic 106.

India Cements 36 (N.P. Singh five for 18) lost to SBH 40 for one.

Arun Deva to lead

Arun Deva will lead Hyderabad in the South Zone under-14 cricket championship to be held in Bangalore from January 16, according to N. Shivlal Yadav, HCA secretary.

IIMC wins title

IIMC (Khairatabad) won the Osmania University inter-college tennis championship defeating Muffakam Jah College of Engineering 2-0 in the final here.
