Ragav Srinivas powers CCL to victory

CHENNAI: Fifteen-year-old Ragav Srinivas’s 125 powered CCL to a 17-run win over Rising Stars in a TNCA third division ‘B’ zone league match here.

In other third division ‘B’ matches, K. George John made a century, as Falcon completed a comfortable win over Bunts, while Unni Krishnan (55 and four for 47) and P.V. Krishnan (five for 38) shone in a tight win for Magnet in a low-scoring encounter.

Third div. ‘B’: Falcon 243 for four in 50 overs (K. George John 107 n.o., Vishnu 51) bt Bunts 166 in 47.3 overs (Joseph four for 40).

Magnet 143 in 38.3 overs (T. Balaji 42, Unni Krishnan 55, B.S. Mangesh four for 43) bt Madras Port Trust 133 in 28.1 overs (D. Gokula Krishnan 40, Unni Krishnan four for 47, P.V. Krishnan five for 38).

Venkateswara 211 for nine in 50 overs (Athreya Mukunthan 67 n.o., K.K. Shabeer 57, S.L. Raja Ganesh four for 43) bt Sir Theagaraya 181 in 46.3 overs (Hardik 57, Sajjad Hussain four for 57).

Galaxy 240 for seven in 50 overs (R. Ananth 53, S.Bharathram 55 n.o.) bt Bharathi 192 in 46.3 overs (C.K. Suresh 81, Santhamurthy 45, S. Balaji (Sr) four for 49).

Jupiter 125 in 44.1 overs (Vijay Govind five for 28) lost to Book Sellers XI 126 for two in 23.2 overs (K. Vidyuth 55 n.o., R. Thirumalai 44).

CCL 257 in 49.3 overs (Ragav Srinivas 125, Stephen four for 58) bt Rising Stars 240 for eight in 50 overs (Munuswamy 56, Pradeep 53 n.o., Prabhu four for 65).

Referees retain places

Tamil Nadu officials S. Suresh (Referee) and T. Pradeep (Assistant Referee) retain their places in the list of International Referees / Assistant Referees approved by FIFA for the year 2009.

Polly Umrigar Trophy

The BCCI South Zone Inter-State Schools tournament (under-16) for the Polly Umrigar Trophy will be conducted by the TNCA here from January 10 to 17.

Karnataka: Winner: Presidency School Bangalore, Runner-up: St. Joseph Indian Bangalore.
