Theatre festival from Saturday

A scene from ‘Badesab Purana’

BANGALORE: In memory of theatre director C.G. Krishnaswamy, Ranga Nirantara will organise a theatre festival at Ravindra Kalakshetra here from January 10 to 12.

On January 10, the festival will be inaugurated by Minister of State for Social Welfare D. Sudhakar. Shivacharya Swamiji of Sanehalli will be the chief guest. Roopantara will stage a short play, which will be followed by rangageete by Siddaramakesapura. Samashti will stage K.V. Subbanna’s “Sadarame” at 7 p.m. On January 11, Lakshmipathi Kolar’s play, “Allamana Bayalaata”, will be released by K. Marulasiddappa. Chairperson of Kannada Book Authority Siddalingaiah will participate in the function to be held at 6 p.m. This will be followed by a play, “Tudiyembo Tudiyilla”, by Ranga Nirantara. On January 12, artistes from Ambari will sing rangageethe at 5.30 p.m.
