CHICKBALLAPUR: Commercial operations, including flight schedules, at the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) at Devanahalli would be severely affected from February 7 to 15 in view of the Aero India-2009 show scheduled to be held at the nearby Air Force Station in Yelahanka. The Bangalore International Airport Ltd. (BIAL) Chief Operating Officer Marcel Hungerbuehler on Thursday announced that the airport would halt commercial operations from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on February 7, 8 9 and 10 when the Aero India event practice and rehearsals are to be held at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka. During the event scheduled between February 11 and 15, the BIA will stop commercial operations of aircraft during 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. This would be in lieu of the airspace requirements of the show, Mr. Hungerbuehler said in a press release. All changes to the airport operations would be made available on the BIAL website, www.bengaluruairport.com for passenger reference, he said.
