Grant amount increased

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The monthly grant of orphanages, old age homes and destitute homes is being increased from Rs. 150 to Rs. 200 with effect from April 1, 2009. It is expected to benefit over 42,000 orphans in 4,920 orphanages, 4,920 elderly persons in 82 old age homes and 365 persons in three destitute homes. — Special Correspondent
