PUDUCHERRY: Member of Parliament M. Ramadass has urged Chief Minister V. Vaithilingam to construct a ‘manimandapam’ for “Sinthanai Sirpi” Singaravelar and lay the foundation stone on his 150th birth anniversary, which falls on February 18. In a letter, Mr. Ramadass urged Mr. Vaithilingam to unveil the statue of Singaravelar at Karaikal on February 18 and organise a seminar about him. An organising committee headed by the Chief Minister and comprising Fisheries Minister, Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly should be formed to plan the birth anniversary celebrations, Mr. Ramadass added.
