EZHIMALA: The mid-air ceremonial flypast by aircraft of the Navy to mark the inauguration of the Indian Naval Academy (Navac) on Thursday turned out to be a spectacular acrobatic display. The flypast over Navac by two teams of Sagar Pavan, the Navy’s acrobatic group, began as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was delivering his speech at the main academic complex of Navac. The audience was awestruck when the aircraft, flying in close formation, suddenly flew alongside each other. The Sagar Pawan aircraft that participated in the flypast included two each Chetak helicopters, Advanced Light Helicopters, SeaKing helicopters, Islander and Dornier and one IL38 aircraft.
