CII-ITC award for Sterlite

Tuticorin: Sterlite Industries (India) has bagged the CII –ITC certificate of commendation for commitment at a function held at New Delhi recently.

The award was presented to Sterlite in recognition to its achievements of sustainable development among independent units for the year 2008.

Sanjay Karn, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, received the award from Mustafa Zahir, Director General of National Environmental Protection Agency, Afghanistan, in the presence of Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission of India.

Vedanta Group Company, Sesa Goa, has also received a certificate of commendation for strong commitment, which made Vedanta Resources to receive two awards for the year 2008. Sterlite received the commendation certificate for the second consecutive year as it was a recipient of the award for previous year too.
