NEW DELHI: Delhi Development Authority Vice-Chairman Ashok Kumar Nigam has extended till January 24 the deadline given to the three-member committee inquiring into allegations of “irregularities” in the draw of lots for its latest housing scheme. The three-member committee, which was given just three days to investigate the DDA Housing Scheme-2008, wanted more time to carry out a thorough probe. Meanwhile, the DDA has clarified that the draw for wait-listed applicants in its housing scheme was part of the main draw and no separate draw was held for 200 additional numbers. Stating that there were no irregularities, DDA spokesperson Neemo Dhar on Wednesday said the numbers were picked from computer randomised numbers. “The computer trail followed for the wait-listed candidates has been recorded and can be checked. Consecutive numbers are possible as per the computer software. It has been brought to our notice that rumours are being circulated regarding the wait-list of applicants drawn by us for the DDA Housing Scheme-2008. It is being alleged that there are some irregularities in the wait-listed successful candidates as there are some consecutive numbers in the list,” she added.
