A POPULAR CHAMPION: Carlos Moya took some time out to interact with children at the Triangle Tennis Trust at YMCA, Nandanam, on Wednesday.

CHENNAI: The city’s favourite international tennis player, Spaniard Carlos Moya, took some time aside from his busy schedule to interact with children at the Triangle Tennis Trust here on Wednesday.

In the city to participate in the ongoing Chennai Open, Moya spent around twenty minutes taking questions from children and advising them on the requirements of becoming a professional tennis player.

“More than anything else, it is important to have a love for the game. Only then can you hope to play at the highest level,” he said.

Moya revealed that he had started to play tennis when he was just three years old and that he still practised for at least three hours every day.

Favourite player

“My favourite player is Andre Agassi. But one has to put in a lot of effort to reach that level,” he said.

Moya also posed for photographs with his eager fans.
