Case against Tirupur Mayor

MADURAI: The police have registered a case against DMK functionaries, including the Tirupur Mayor, in a case relating to attack on a convoy of DMDK leader Premalatha on Tuesday night. On a complaint from DMDK functionary Chellapandi, the Thirumangalam town police registered a case against 28 persons, including K. Selvaraj, Tirupur Mayor. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the accused were campaigning in support of the DMK candidate and were followers of the Tirupur Mayor, the police added.
