Truckers’ strike continues

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: Lorries were off the road in the city on Wednesday too, as truckers strike continued for the third day.

“All lorries and trucks registered with the Visakha Goods Transport Association and the Visakha Lorry Owners’ Association have been directed not to operate. Tippers are also participating in the strike,” said VGTA secretary R.D. Mandal.

Onion load

The government did not responded to the demands of the All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) so far and the situation would be reviewed on Thursday. Meanwhile, some trucks brought onion to the Gnanapuram wholesale vegetable market earlier in the day.
