Conference of skin specialists begins

Bangalore: Leukoderma or vitiligo, is a rare skin disease characterised by white spots and patches. But the condition is treatable with an advanced surgical procedure called Melanocyte Culture transplantation. A live demonstration of this procedure was conducted on Tuesday at a workshop on “Dermatosurgery, Lasers and Aesthetics” organised as part of the 37th national conference of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists. The conference, inaugurated by the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Wednesday, is a global convention on evolving trends in dermatological therapy.
