KPYCC talent search meet

Bangalore: The Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) will organise a two-day talent search meet in the city on January 15 and 16.

President of the KPYCC and MLA Krishna Byre Gowda told presspersons that the aim of the event was to have transparency in inducting youths into the unit. Many youths had expressed their desire to join politics responding to the call given by All India Congress Committee general secretary Rahul Gandhi.

He said that the All India Youth Congress Committee president Ashok Tanvar, general secretary Jitendra Singh and some leaders would attend the event. The promising persons would be considered for appointment to different posts. Mr. Gowda said that some of them might be even appointed directly to important positions.

Asked whether such an exercise would work in politics, where caste and money played a negative role at all levels including in the selection of candidates for elections, Mr. Gowda said that Mr. Gandhi wanted to introduce reforms at all levels in the organisation.

The services of professionals in different fields could also be utilised, if they did not perform well in interviews on questions pertaining to politics, by setting up a cell for them in the KPYCC. He said the block, district and State units would have elections by year-end. The unit has plans to have office-bearers at the village panchayat level.

The aspirants should be below 35 years of age and had to furnish original SSLC marks card as proof of age. They should provide information about their background in politics or their association with any social activities and produce a letter of reference.

The KPYCC would create the Bangalore Rural district unit covering Hoskote, Devanahalli, Yelahanka and Doddabballapura constituencies. Bangalore South, Central and North Lok Sabha constituencies would come under Bangalore City unit.
