I-T raid on former Minister’s house
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: Sleuths of the Income Tax Department on Tuesday conducted raids on the residences and business establishments of five persons, including two politicians, in the city following a tip-off that they were evading tax to the government. A posse of 400 personnel started their operations in the morning and recovered money and incriminating documents to show that they have income for which they had not filed returns.
The officials, the sources said, had split into several groups and raided the houses of Zameer Ahmed, MLA and former Minister, R.V. Devaraj, former Chairman of KSRTC and former MLA, in Chamarajpet and other areas. One team raided the houses of one Lokesh alias Loki, an associate of Mr. Devraj in Chamarajpet.
