Removal of NSUI leader sought

HYDERABAD: A group of NSUI activists staged a demonstration at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday demanding ouster of State unit president Ch. Vamsi Chand Reddy accusing him of neglecting the student wing affairs.

Led by N. Preetham, all-India convener, NSUI cultural affairs committee, the activists raised slogans against Dr. Vamshi Chand Reddy and submitted a memorandum to APCC general secretary G. Niranjan seeking immediate steps for his removal from the post as he had failed to actively take up organisational activities.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr. Preetham alleged that Dr. Reddy was more interested in securing ticket for contesting from Kalwakurthy Assembly constituency than the students’ affairs. He said the APCC president had assured them of discussions after January 12. Meanwhile, at a separate press conference, NSUI State general secretary Somashekar, vice-president M. Ashwin Reddy and State unit office-bearers D. Vinod, G. Nagaraju and Shivakantha denied the charges and accused Mr. Preetham of interfering with the affairs . “Mr. Preetham is in no way involved with the NSUI, but has been creating problems for the State unit,” they said and sought disciplinary action against him.
