Uniforms donated

SHIMOGA: Founder general secretary of the Children Welfare Trust and social worker of Bangalore Gemini R. Satyanarayana and its member C.K. Shivkumar donated uniforms to students of the Government Higher Primary School at Hakki Pikki camp, about 10 km from here on Tuesday.

Majority of the students belong to nomadic groups.

They told the students to make use of benefits being extended to them and improve their performance so as to get good jobs.

Community Resource Person Gavi Siddappa, Community Assistant Educational Officer G.M. Rathod and member of taluk panchayat Ekashi addressed the gathering.

Japanese couple Takeshi, a businessman, and Aiko, a teacher, from Hiroshima, expressed their appreciation over the donation by philanthropists for the cause of education. Earlier, headmistress of the school K. Vijayalaskhmi welcomed the gathering.
