Mr. Ahmed demanded that the price of diesel be reduced by Rs. 10 a litre and suggested that there be a uniform toll on transport vehicles throughout the country. ProtectionMr. Ahmed demanded that prices of tyres, tubes and spare parts of lorries be reduced and protection be given to goods transport vehicle drivers against dacoits. Later, lorry owners and drivers staged a demonstration on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in support of their demands.
