BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Monday caught a Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike junior engineer and a gangman while they were allegedly accepting Rs. 55,000 from a house owner.
According to a compliant, Ramachandra Reddy, Junior Engineer of Hombegowda Sub-Division, and gangman Puttappa visited J.M. Nanjundegowda’s house in Laljinagar and allegedly demanded Rs. 1.5 lakh. They told Nanjundegowda that his house was not according to the sanctioned plan.
Following the complaint, the Lokayukta police arrested Reddy and Puttappa while they were allegedly accepting Rs. 55,000, which was said to be the first instalment.
